We’re excited to announce the 6th ATHENA European University meeting in Rome, Italy!

This event, organized by our partner Niccolò Cusano, will take place on May 3-5, 2023, at the Rome campus of Niccolò Cusano University.
The meeting will feature a diverse range of activities, including inspiring talks by renowned speakers, engaging parallel and plenary sessions, campus tours, social events, and a magnificent sightseeing tour of Rome’s iconic landmarks.

The HPC RIVR Supercomputer in Slovenia

Professor Zoran Ren from the University of Maribor will present HPC RIVR, the most powerful public supercomputer in Slovenia. It operates with the aim of opening up new research and development fields in segments that help to shape global trends.

Developing Active Listening Skills

In this new ATHENA Talks session, Dr. Kostas Petridis from the Hellenic Mediterranean University, will discuss the art of active listening and how it can positively impact both personal and professional relationships. By developing this valuable skill, you can improve communication, build trust, and create stronger connections with those around you.

Intercultural Communication

One of the keys to success is to be able to collaborate and understand other cultures. This is called cultural intelligence.
This is essential for the employability of someone since all of us will be called to collaborate and perform as members of a global team.
 
On Monday, 27th of March (at 17.00 CET), the ATHENA Career Talks host Ms. Milou Kauffman from FONTYS University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Milou will discuss with our students about ‘Intercultural Communication’.

ATHENA 1st student Hackathon

Dear student, dear ATHENIAN!

Welcome to the ATHENA 1st student Hackathon! The event will occur from the 24th to the 28th of April, 2023. The objective is to build an application that will deal with one of the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
  • Sustainable Cities and Communities.
  • Good Health and Well-Being.
  • Responsible, Consumption, and Production.
  • Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
The process will be the following:
  • You need to register at this link: shorturl.at/sPS19
  • Please register by the 7th of April, 2023.
  • Please select in the registration form your 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th selection regarding the targeted SDGs.
  • During the 1st online meeting (24th of April), you will be split into teams (with no more than 7 members per team). At most, two teams can select the same SDG. You will meet with your team to decide what app you can make.
  • During the 1st meeting, experts on the four SDGs will present them (15 minutes for each presentation).
  • On the 28th of April, each team will present the prototype of its application that deals with the selected SDG.
The organization committee will provide as a trophy the sponsorship to further develop your idea.
