Summer is not only the perfect time to restart and rest but also to get inspiration for the new academic year. So, we encourage you to keep in touch with ATHENA summer events!

ATHENA offers various opportunities for students, staff, researchers, and stakeholders. Join us at our events:

  • Technology-based multidisciplinary cooperation and its applications for improving well-being (TEMUCO 2023) in Orléans, France, 12/06-14/06. The aim of the conference is to present the latest research and scientific developments in biomedical and health technologies together with their applications to clinical practice and biomedical education. Participation for ATHENA members is FREE.  
  • Workshop “Spoken language corpora as a teaching-learning resource for French as a foreign language“ in Orléans, France, 29/06-30/06. The workshop deals with the question of how spoken corpora of French can be exploited for the (university) teaching of French as a foreign language in the fields of French language and linguistics. The workshop especially encourages the exchange between experienced scientists and young researchers. Doctoral and post-doctoral students will be able to present their projects and discuss them with recognized scientific experts.  
  • “ATHENA Talks” – regular online scientific conversations with leading scientists from around the world. Students are also very welcome! Register here

Participate in BIPs – Blended Intensive Programmes. These are programmes that integrate physical mobility and virtual learning.

For Students:

  • SUMMER SCHOOL: Multidimensional bioelectric processing: from decomposition to complexity in Orléans, France, 14/06-16/06. The summer school is a part of an initiative on innovative digital technologies for analysing large datasets related to human health and is funded by the ATHENA European University alliance. The program will focus on advanced methods for processing bioelectric data, including signals such as electromyography (EMG), electroencephalography (EEG), and electrocardiography (ECG). The aim is to provide both basic and advanced knowledge of multidimensional signal processing, based on techniques such as complexity measures, factorial methods, and tensor decompositions.
  • SUMMER SCHOOL: Artificial Intelligence: From ideas to application in Lublin, Poland, 18/06-24/06. This Doctoral summer school organized by UMCS will include lectures and workshops on artificial intelligence, research projects, intellectual property and startups.
  • Closure of BlendEd in Heraklion, Greece, 19/06-23/06. More details coming soon. 
  • SUMMER SCHOOL: International tutorials in Digital tools for built heritage diagnosis and monitoring in Orléans, France, 20/06-21/06. This event is for those interested in keeping up with the latest developments in digital technologies for preservation and diagnostic support of historic buildings, as well as future trends.
  • BIP: Mastering music video creation in Vilnius, Lithuania, 19/06-30/06. Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) Creativity and Innovation Centre “LinkMenu fabrikas” invites ATHENA students from all partner universities to participate in the International Summer School of Sound and Vision “Mastering Music Video Creation“! This programme offers a unique opportunity for students to develop their filming, editing, cinematographic lighting, sound recording, design, and other essential video content creation skills.
  • SUMMER SCHOOL: French Language and Culture in Orléans, France, 17/06- 15/07. This summer, experience a full French immersion in Orléans (2 or 4 weeks), labelled “City of Arts and History”. Two or four weeks to practice and make progress in French, discover the region and its culture, live French in and out of classes.
  • SUMMER SCHOOL: Getting Started with Technical Communication in Porto, Portugal, 03/07-07/07. Technical communication is focused on the user of services or products and is an essential and transversal competence. Moreover, it is a professional area that is booming globally, most notably because of the digital and technological context of today’s world, and the need to inform the users in a clear way in order to create more value in products/services.
  • SUMMER SCHOOL: ATHENA Doctoral Summer school in Vilnius, Lithuania, 17/07-21/07. VILNIUS TECH PhD Summer School is an annual event that aims to provide doctoral candidates with unique professional and personal development opportunities. It focuses on the key competencies required to achieve the best results beyond general doctoral students’ training.
  • BIP: Solution Design Summer School in Maribor, Slovenia, 27/08-08/09. Are you ready to face a real life problem in an international team of students of different professions and with experienced professors and experts? If YES, don’t hesitate to register for the 2023 Solution Design Summer school.
  • BIP: 10th International Logistics Summer School – Sustainable Travel: Re-Defining the World of Travel in Maribor, Slovenia, 28/08-05/09. This year’s summer school will provide you with an in-depth look at the logistics aspect of sustainable travel. You will learn about the challenges and opportunities that arise in transporting travelers, goods, and services sustainably and will include resource management, waste reduction, and improving transportation efficiency.
