Promoting research and collaboration opportunities among ATHENA researchers and the broader academic staff is crucial for unlocking the full potential of innovation. In line with this objective, a workshop on the Shared Resources Directory (SRD) was organised for ATHENA researchers. The event took place at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin from May 8 to 9, 2024, and was conducted by the University of Maribor team.
The workshop was first organised online after the initial launch of the SRD in 2021. With ATHENA’s expansion to new partners, such as the University of Vigo and Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, and ongoing updates to the SRD, these workshops have continued to support both new and existing partners.
The workshop’s primary aim was to introduce UMCS researchers to the directory and its functionalities. The SRD offers a comprehensive overview of the research expertise and resources available within ATHENA member institutions. It facilitates institutional exchange, joint research projects, and other collaborative efforts. The SRD serves as a registry and communication tool for research cooperation, the establishment of research priorities by the ATHENA Research Board, and the management of shared research infrastructures.
During the workshop, Tatjana Welzer and Saša Grašič from the University of Maribor also met with members of the Rector’s College at UMCS, including Prof. Radosław Dobrowolski, Prof. Wiesław Gruszecki, Prof. Dorota Kołodyńska, and Prof. Zbigniew Pastuszak. Additionally, they engaged with representatives from various UMCS units where future collaboration with the University of Maribor is anticipated.
