Carinthia University of Applied Sciences celebrates associate partnership in the ATHENA alliance

CUAS joining ATHENA event

The Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) has been an associate partner of the ATHENA alliance since the beginning of 2023.

Recently CUAS organized an event to celebrate the partnership. The footage of the event can be found here

“We are very pleased to join the ATHENA. This partnership enables us to join forces and work together on forward-looking education and research projects,” said FH Carinthia rector, Peter Granig during the event. “Another advantage is that our students now have the opportunity to study at renowned universities such as Siegen and Orléans. The acceptance is a recognition of our strong performance in practice-oriented teaching and research,” added rector Peter Granig.

Konstantinos Pedridis, Secretary General of the ATHENA Alliance, emphasized the importance of the European Universities Initiative for the future of higher education: “European universities are transnational alliances that point the way to the universities of the future, promote European values and identity, enhance quality and competitiveness. It will revolutionize higher education. It is one of the most important projects of the European Commission in higher education and has been supported as part of the European Education Area since 2019.”

The Carinthia University of Applied Sciences is looking forward to making a contribution to this initiative through its cooperation with ATHENA and to promoting the European idea in the field of education.

Founded in 1995, CUAS has developed into a unique educational institution in Carinthia. With its 4 different schools, CUAS is an internationally oriented university that cooperates with more than 160 institutions of higher education worldwide. Degree programs are offered in the fields of civil engineering and architecture, engineering, as well as management, healthcare and social issues.
