ATHENA Webinar Sparks New Collaborations in Research and Education

Webinar CLUSTERS 169 format

On 12 March, the ATHENA  Alliance organised the webinar ‘Opportunities for Collaboration in Education and Research’, which was hosted by the University of Siegen. More than 120 people, including deans, vice-deans and researchers from various departments at all ATHENA partner institutions, registered for this event. The webinar focused on our new strategy for establishing joint projects in research and education. After a general introduction by Prof Peter Haring Bolívar, ATHENA coordinator at the University of Siegen, the participants were divided into 5 thematic sessions: Four sessions were dedicated to the four thematic clusters that have been defined to facilitate cooperation in key areas of mutual interest:

Cluster 1 – Digitalisation for All – Exploring innovative digital solutions to enhance education and research accessibility.

Cluster 2 – Sustainable Production – Advancing environmentally friendly production methods and sustainable industrial practices.

Cluster 3 – Health and Nutrition – Promoting research in healthcare, nutrition, and well-being.

Cluster 4 – Creative Industries – Strengthening the role of arts, media, and culture in education and research

A fifth session focused on different ways of establishing joint educational programmes.

Each session included several short presentations of ongoing or planned activities, followed by a discussion on further collaboration opportunities.

We would like to thank all participants for the lively exchange and fruitful discussions. The event represents a milestone in our cooperation in research and education and we look forward to continuing our joint activities and bringing new projects life!
