Motivating women and girls in ICT

Motivating Women and Girls in ICT

ATHENA European university is dedicated to an inclusive and balanced approach to all aspects of the researchers and the overall university staff. In this part of the web page filling the gaps for the interest in STEM is approached.

The research, knowledge and lifelong related motivational quotes of the ATHENA members published below is a tiny effort to attract students, boost cooperation and lead to the appropriate societal impact of STEM.

The initiative started within the Girls in ICT event, however, it has outgrown its format and it is continuously addressing the subject of women in engineering. The quotes are published periodically throughout the year and, as such tackling awareness of diversity and gender equality from UN International Day of Women and Girls in Science (February 11, 2021) over International Women’s Day (March 8, 2021) to International Girls in ICT Day (April 22, 2021) and International Women in Engineering Day (June 23, 2021).

Diverse groups are better at solving problems than homogeneous groups, so it is important for girls to enter ICT.
