Starting in the 2025/26 winter semester, the ATHENA member universities of Siegen and Orléans will be strengthening their collaboration by jointly offering the degree programme “Linguistik: digital, angewandt, strukturell / Sciences du Langage”.
Students in the master’s programme spend one to two semesters at the partner university and receive two degrees upon completion: the German Master of Arts in “Linguistics: Digital, Applied, Structural” and the French Master of Sciences Humaines et Sociales in “Sciences du Langage”. In addition to the stay abroad, the programme includes other international elements such as the opportunity to write a thesis under binational supervision, internships in the partner country and an international student group during the second and third semesters.
The programme prepares graduates for responsible positions in the fields of language technology and adult education and qualifies them for demanding tasks in communication-oriented professions within companies and public institutions, particularly those focused on digital and media-based communication, as well as multilingual and intercultural settings.
Programme coordinators Britta Thörle (Siegen) and Marie Skrovec (Orléans) are pleased that the new degree programme now gives advanced students access to the proven binational academic environment. This environment was established through close cooperation between the two universities as part of the Bachelor’s programme in European Business Communication (coordinated by Britta Thörle and Anne Delouis), which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year.
Prospective Prospective students are cordially invited to attend a digital information event on September 3 at 6 p.m. via Webex. Click here for the event.
