We are excited to announce the launch of a new Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) module focused on Research Skills for the AI Era. This course is part of the IMPACT project under the ATHENA European University and will commence on October 16, 2024, running until March 5, 2025.
Course Structure and Participation
The COIL sessions will take place every Wednesday from 15:00 to 17:00 CET via Zoom. We have designed this course with flexibility in mind, allowing students and academics to participate in any of the independent sessions that interest them. However, to receive a certificate of accomplishment, participants must complete at least 60% of the sessions, including group work and testing, whether synchronously or asynchronously.
This module will be delivered by a team of 12 experienced academics, each leading one or two sessions. The course covers a wide range of essential research skills, including how to conduct literature reviews, prepare and deliver presentations, and utilize AI tools for scientific writing. At the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate of participation, with an option to earn a microcredential certificate validated by blockchain technology.
Microcredentialing and Inclusivity
We are also working on incorporating the concept of microcredentialing to make this COIL module accessible to self-learners. This approach aims to provide a more inclusive educational experience, ensuring that learners from various backgrounds can benefit from this opportunity.
How to Participate
Three ATHENA universities – Hellenic Mediterranean University, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute – are already participating in this COIL. We invite other institutions and individuals to join us.
