Digitalisation for All

Digitalisation for all

Exploring innovative digital solutions to make education and research more accessible

Digital transformation is reshaping how we access information, communicate, learn, work, and consume — essentially transforming our daily lives. The Cluster plays a proactive role in driving this transformation by utilizing technologies such as edge intelligence, artificial intelligence, nanoelectronics, embedded systems, software engineering, and ICT. Its goal is to harness technological advancements to boost regional competitiveness, foster prosperity, and enhance the quality of life for citizens. Committed to responsible innovation, the Cluster ensures that digital progress aligns with fundamental values and promotes social inclusivity. IMPACT (Inter-Mediterranean Peace And CollaboraTion) is a consortium of HEIs, organizations, youth associations, and technology companies from Europe, Israel, and Morocco. Through its actions, the project aims to foster intercultural dialogue and soft skills development. It will employ youth-friendly technologies and innovative pedagogies. Our work plan includes the design and piloting of the virtual exchanges through (a) joint innovative Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) modules; (b) joint virtual activities and events. (c) Toolboxes that provide innovative means and approaches for intercultural dialogue and collaboration through innovative digital technology and pedagogy will facilitate the designing of COIL modules and courses as well as joint activities and events. The participating HEIs in this program will develop institutional strategies and policies to validate COIL courses, online workshops, and debates. These strategies and policies can be used as models or templates by other European institutions, third countries, and the world. All the IMPACT educational activities will be accredited within the participant Institutions using ECTS, Virtual Exchange digital badges, or micro-credentials. All the provided certificates will be transferable and credible using Blockchain technology.

Double Degree Masterprogramme Electronical Engineering

2026-10 → 2028-09 • running • Joint and double degrees
Partner(s): University of Siegen, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University

A DDP in Electronical Engineering has been approved for implementation by USiegen and VILNIUS TECH. Student selection will start February 2026 (studies start in Oct 2026). A proposal has been submitted to DAAD in October 2025 in order to receive funding for student scholarship and administration. The plan is for students from the University of Siegen to spend the first and second semesters at U Siegen and then transfer to VILNIUS TECH in Vilnius for the third semester. At the same time, students from VILNIUS TECH can transfer to U Siegen for the third semester. The main subjects are ‘Electronics Design and Technology’ at U Siegen and ‘Advanced Electronics Design’ at VILNIUS TECH. Each semester is made up of a combination of compulsory and elective courses and comprises a total of 30 ECTS. For the Master's thesis, which takes place in the fourth semester, students can choose again whether they want to stay at the partner university or transfer to their home university. Preferably, however, the third and fourth semesters should be spent at the same university. Ideally, the Master's theses should be assessed by a supervisor from both partners.
