List of the past workshops:
♦ Spoken language corpora as a teaching-learning resource for French as a foreign language
The workshop deals with the question of how spoken corpora of French can be exploited for the (university) teaching of French as a foreign language in the fields of French language and linguistics. The focus is on problems of the exploration, structuring and processing of corpus data as well as issues of the transferability and sustainability of digital resources.
♦ International workshop on Digital Tools for Built Heritage diagnosis and monitoring (DT4BH)
Recent advances in 3D scanning technologies of buildings, combined with their progressive appropriation by an increasing number of users, make it possible today to consider the systematic production of data for historic buildings. Processing of these large amounts of multimodal data is essential for the monitoring and the diagnosis of built heritage. Thus, Historic Building Information Modelling (HBIM) appears today as a promising and critical strategy for making the best of the collected data.
♦ Technology-based multidisciplinary cooperation and its applications for improving well-being
The aim of the conference is to present the latest research and scientific developments in biomedical and health technologies together with their applications to clinical practice and biomedical education. It will also offer the opportunity to bring together, exchange and inspire scientific collaborations between fields of research that are related to biomedical research and the physical and mental well-being of patients with neurodegenerative diseases. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: biomedical signal processing, sensors and wearable systems, therapeutic technologies, health informatics, data-driven diagnostic systems, technologies for autonomous and independent living of people with neurodegenerative diseases, rehabilitation engineering, etc.
International Conferences
International conferences provide an excellent platform for researchers to showcase their work, exchange ideas, and collaborate with peers from around the world. These events offer a unique opportunity to network with other researchers, gain exposure to new research trends and techniques, and receive feedback on their own work. Attending international conferences can be an enriching and rewarding experience for researchers, allowing them to broaden their knowledge, build their professional network, and contribute to the advancement of their field.

♦ Humanities and Social Sciences: Fostering Global Resilience through Cross-Cultural Collaboration
Humanities and social sciences (HSS) fields play a vital role in enhancing cross-cultural understanding through their significant components such as history, language, arts, literature, economics, sociology, public opinion, and other related disciplines. Through mutual understanding and cross-cultural collaboration, the HSS sciences can contribute to addressing contemporary world challenges, grasping emerging opportunities, and building global resilience. HSS research and reflections are needed, now more than ever, to facilitate multicultural collaboration and strategic planning for recovery, to enhance resilient educational and research systems, to ensure intercultural and reflective dialogue, and to promote creative initiatives for solidarity, diversity, and community healing.

♦ International Language Week
The eighth edition of the International Language Week 2023 will be held between October 16-20, 2023, at the Porto Accounting and Business School ISCAP-P.Porto, Portugal.
It is being organized by our Languages Department in cooperation with the Language Centre and the Institute for Intercultural Communication of Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences (co-hosts). This year’s edition, dedicated to the motto “LinguaCulture² – Rethinking Language and Culture in the Digital Era”, proposes debating digitalisation’s problems and issues, as well as their impact on current teaching practices. Recent advancements in AI will certainly alter how language and cultural studies’ lecturers instruct and evaluate linguistic and cross-cultural competences, bringing this topic to the forefront.
Bringing together lecturers, researchers, trainers, scholars, and undergraduate as well as graduate students, we would like to present different views on an interdisciplinary dialogue and reflections on experiences, practices, and strategies in different fields of expertise.
