ATHENA European University proudly participated in the Transform4Europe (T4EU) Strategic Policy Conference 2025, hosted by Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) in Kaunas, Lithuania, on 21–22 October 2025.
Under the theme “Universities Shaping the Future: Building Resilient Societies through Innovation and Global Impact,” the conference gathered academic leaders, policymakers, and experts from across Europe to discuss how higher education institutions can foster resilience in today’s rapidly changing world.
Representing ATHENA, Anne Friederike Delouis, Vice-President for International Relations at the Université d’Orléans, took part in the round table “Democracies Under Pressure,” alongside distinguished speakers such as Vygaudas Ušackas, former Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Konstantin Eggert, DW Russian Affairs Analyst.
The discussions focused on how universities can support democratic values, strengthen cooperation between nations, and prepare students to meet the challenges of technological, societal, and geopolitical transformation.
This event was also an opportunity to reinforce cooperation among European University alliances and reaffirm our shared commitment to innovation, inclusion, and resilience across Europe’s higher education landscape.
We extend our gratitude to Vytautas Magnus University and the Transform4Europe Alliance for hosting such an inspiring and forward-looking conference.
