Gender Equality in ATHENA European University
Gender equality lies at the heart of excellence, innovation, and well-being within the ATHENA European University. Ensuring that every individual has equal opportunities to thrive is essential not only for fairness and inclusivity, but also for strengthening the quality of teaching, research, and campus life across our Alliance. By addressing gender-based disparities and promoting diverse perspectives, ATHENA contributes to a more just, collaborative, and forward-looking European Higher Education Area.
Within the ATHENA Action Group on Quality of Life, gender equality constitutes a dedicated strategic line aimed at advancing shared policies and practices across all partner institutions. As part of this common effort, ATHENA has produced its first comprehensive baseline report, identifying existing resources, good practices, and structural gaps related to gender equality. The findings of this report have informed a set of proposed actions intended to guide long-term, sustainable progress throughout the Alliance.
This space provides open access to the report and to the institutional contacts responsible for gender equality in each ATHENA university. Any student, researcher, or staff member who has questions, concerns, or wishes to seek support in this field may reach out to their local contact point.
ATHENA remains committed to fostering respectful, inclusive, and equitable academic communities—where everyone is empowered to contribute and succeed.
